Important Updates Regarding Fall Lesson
Over the last several months, QMA has been watching closely with NYS and CDC guidelines in order to provide a safe learning and working environment for our students and teachers.
Here are some updates:
We are strictly continuing online lessons for 1 on 1 private lessons, however, we are switching all group lessons to in-person.
Please use covid19 code to get 15% off.
In-person lessons
(For group classes and drummer only)
It was not possible to play together via online, so we are determined to meet in person for group classes. This is possible because our physical location, each room is now becoming a recording booth. Each room will have a mic and headphones which connected to the waiting room. The teacher will be teaching in waiting room. For example, we have five rooms so we can have five participants for each class.
For in-person participants; Requirement of masks is critical. All students and teachers are required to wear face masks in our hallways with the exception of vocal and woodwind players.
Vocal/ Woodwind/Brass students will be in a separate room using headphones and mic which will be installed in each booth.
Everyon is asked to sanitize their hands upon arrival and departure.
Students are required to submit a CoVID symptom free checklist before each lesson. Parents will need to sign there forms for all students under the age of 18. Without this signed form, an unperson lesson will be unavailable.
In -person lessons will not take place for any student or teacher who exhibits any cold and flu symptom, has been traveling within 15 days or has been recently exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID. An online lesson will be available at the student’s regular lesson day and time in this instance.
All students are asked to be dropped off . There is no waiting room. We ask parents or guardiance to come back to pick up after the lesson.
Parents of students ages 12 + may sign a waiver allowing students to enter and leave the premises unescorted. Students arriving without a parent/guardian will need to submit their COVID symptom free checklist before each lesson.
Surfaces at QMA will be disinfected frequently including keyboards and any equipments and shields.
Physical distancing will be adhered to as much as possible.
Should a government mandated closure occur, all in -person lessons will switch to online. Students may withdraw from lessons at anytime with one month’s written notice via email.
We encourage parents to use our booking link found here or on our website homepage to book lessons. inquire about program and register for group classes.
Are virtual lessons working well for you?
most of our students did not skip a beat when we found ourselves switching to the online platform this past spring. In fact, teachers reported a marked increase in student’ focus ability and rate of progresss with online learning.
We understand that many of our students and families are not ready to return to in-person lessons and the great news is that you do not have to. Now that we know how convenient and effective virtual lessons are, they will continue to be offered at QMA.
Want to try a combination of online and in-person lessons? This is possible too! We encourage to talk to your child’s teacher to set up hybrid schedule combining online and in-person lessons. Keep in mind that not all teachers are offering hybrid.
